Wormtown Brewery Tap Takeover

Kick off Mass Beer Week 2016 with Saltbox and Worcester's first microbrewery, Wormtown Brewery, Wormtown was named National Grand Champion in the 2014 US Open Beer Championship. You can’t find Wormtown here in Concord, so this is your chance to try them out. Here's what they will be serving up:

Be Hoppy IPA: Wormtown's take on the Left Coast IPA. The huge aromatics and big citrus forward flavors come from the copious amount of hops they use during our double dry hop and hop back processes. Pungent aroma of citrus, floral spice, and grapefruit. Decidedly bitter palate with a medium light body. Flavors of hoppy grapefruit give way to a dry finish. 

Blizzard of 78 Winter Ale: Their Winter Ale pays tribute to those who were there and those who have endured hearing about it over and over again. They created a classic English Style Brown Ale with fresh roasted coffee beans added from Acoustic Java to give Blizzard of ’78 a rich, smooth character.

Be Hoppier Double IPA: What do you do when their Be Hoppy IPA isn’t hoppy enough for you? Seek out its award winning bigger brother. They add mash hopping along with our double dry hop and hop back processes tocreate a hop bomb of epic proportions.

Brewed with Pearl Pale malted barley and a supporting cast of American specialty malts that play second fiddle to massive amounts of Amarillo, Chinook, and Citra hops. No fewer than 4 other hops were used thru the end of the boil, hopback, and dry hop process. Hazy golden in color. Intense piney citrus aroma. Comparably intense hop flavor follows favoring floral grapefruit notes, background malt appears before being washed over with finishing bitterness. Medium light body, clean somewhat dry finish.

Mass. Produced Lager Series - Helles: Straw colored and crystal clear. A large addition of Meridian hops, in the whirlpool, adds a lemon zest flavor and aroma which compliments the spicy Hallertau hops used throughout the boil. They utilized Floor-Malted Bohemian Pilsner malt from Germany to create a delicate, yet full flavored lager. The Pilsner Malt creates the backbone for this beer lending a cereal grain character. A well rounded and quaffable beer.
